Dirtyscam.com, Gripeo.com and the online reputation business

There are a lot of websites where you can write all the defamation you wants against everyone, for free! And the funny thing is these websites “are not responsible for the contents”.

In our personal opinion, these people must go to prison! Not just because they let people write free defamation against people and companies. But because they are part of an online Mafia Business, thanks to these websites the “Online Reputation Management Business” exploded in the last 5 years.

It’s a quite simple business. Dozen of website “specialists” help you to remove these contents. How? Just paying the website owner and that’s it! This is a clear extorsion.

DirtyScam.com and Gripeo.com are review websites people use to post information about scams and fraudulent activity going on with certain businesses, people, and products. It can be useful for staying aware of local rip-offs and knowing which businesses to avoid. However, the questions they ask when you go to submit a scam are not extensive, so anyone can post anything. There is no way to know who is being truthful and who is not.

Websites like this ride the line between review and gossip because you never know who is posting. The number of fake reviews people make is astronomical, and that goes for any scam review website. Of course, people are capable of forming their own opinions, but it definitely does not help if your services get pointed out directly as a scam.

What is Online Defamation / Cyber Libel?

If a bad review posted online is not fair and true or based on fact, it is misleading to the people who look at it. The harshest reviews make people avoid businesses altogether, regardless of their personal experiences with that company or person.

Writing normal positive and negative reviews is okay. Still, when it comes to intentionally spreading false information to ruin a business, by claiming they are a scam, the creator can get into serious trouble. When this type of malicious act leads to a damaged reputation, it is called online defamation, or cyber libel.

But also Gripeo.com, another online supermarket where you can post online all the stupid articles against your enemy, friend, ex-employer or ex-company that fired you, and that’s it!

Gripeo is a scam portal that writes negative reviews about company’s then blackmails them into paying massive fees in order to “fix” the reviews, check all the honest reviews by real people and help take Gripeo off the internet, like the other competitor Fintelegram.

For the request to remove each article you need to pay about 5000$ each, but if you want to remove it, you need to contact their middle companies online (there are 4-5 of them, all based in the US), they are directly in contact with Gripeo. Then they cancel the article and after you pay them.

It exists an online Mafia group of companies between Gripeo.com, dirtyscam.com, Fintelegram.com and all the “reputation online companies”, since they cancel the article, show you that it disappear, and then you will pay them. Of course, if you don’t pay them, they will report it again and will publish more and more and more articles to damage much more your reputation.

Maybe, the Fintelegram business defamation idea come up from one of these websites, who knows?

Anyway, if you want to remove these fake articles, you have 3 steps to do:

Stage one, contact the search engines, the main one is Google and here you have the first link, https://reportcontent.google.com/forms/rtbf explain to them your problem, as well giving them all the proof about the fake content, as well you can email directly google to removals@google.com.

In the case Google doesn’t cancel with the previous link, you can open a legal ticket (and in this case, I suggest to attach also legal letters and a police report in the case), here you find the link http://support.google.com/legal.

And also you can directly contact Bing here https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/concern/bing and submit the removal with all the proofs. But from what I can see, Bing is quite slow to remove.

Usually, the search engines don’t cancel from every GEO, but from your region. But at least, something is achieved.

The second stage is to find companies that remove these links from the search engine in full (and not from their website server). But this is a service that needs to get paid, the average price is 1000$ for each link. The page will remain on the website/blog, but cannot be reached anymore by any search engine. Please remember, these companies have a direct partnership with these websites, Gripeo, Dirtyscam and so on, and use these companies as a filter, just to avoid direct blackmail (in this case, is a pure extorsion).

The third and final stage is to remove totally an article also from the website is the most difficult way, just the webmaster can cancel an article. How? Or pay the website owner (this is the faster way) or by a legal court case against the website, but in this case, you have to open also a Police report and find out who wrote the articles by their online IPs.
